Objective

Since 2016, Orbex has been tracking steadily towards finalizing the design and build of our micro-launcher Prime, moving into launch operations by the end of 2024. The current state of development is Phase C with systems CDR as the next major gate, and Orbex is in the process of onboarding the final tranche of headcount leaving us at approximately 170 employees. Uniquely for Orbex, we offer an end-to-end service as we own and operate our own spaceport in the norther part of Scotland allowing us to offer optimized timing for payload operations, minimized logistics and competitive cost. Prime offers polar or sun-synchronous orbits with a typical mission capacity of 150kg at 500km altitude, for both singular monolithic satellite or various configurations of dispensers only or dispensers and satellites. An important aspect of the Prime vehicle is the low environmental impact due to its propellant choice reducing carbon emissions by almost 90% making this micro-launcher and service prepared for the important environmental challenges facing us all.
