Objective

This project aims at developing new antioxidant agents to counteract oxidative stress problems during space missions. The project will be primary based on the exploitation of advanced antioxidant nanozymes, and will pursue the following objectives: - Analysis of the antioxidant potential of advanced nanozymes, such as shape-controlled platinum and palladium biocompatible nanoparticles; - Characterization of their cellular behavior against oxidative stress. This will be performed in cell lines, primary neurons, as well as in vivo, also under reduced gravity conditions.
